HONDURAS: Inoperancia de Ministerio Público facilita fuga de policías implicados en asesinato de dos universitarios

Tegucigalpa. Autoridades de la Policía Nacional, confirmaron ayer que cuatro policías (un oficial y tres policías de tropa) implicados

en el asesinato de dos jóvenes universitarios hace diez días, se dieron a la fuga con la facilidad del permiso de salida que les otorgó el mismo cuerpo armado.

El viernes anterior, 28 de octubre, se les permitió salir de las instalaciones militares, aun cuando ya estaban plenamente identificados mediante videos y grabaciones de la noche en que participaron en el suceso que terminó con el asesinato de los jóvenes Rafael Alejandro Vargas (22) y Carlos Pineda (23). Rafael Vargas es hijo de la actual rectora de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH), Julieta Castellanos.

Durante el proceso de investigación, las versiones tanto del Ministerio Publico como la Policía Nacional han carecido de fundamento y uno y otro órgano muestran profundas contradicciones, evidenciando falta de coordinación en lo que corresponde a cada quien en el trabajo técnico e investigación.

La Ley de la Policía Nacional, en el capítulo VI, de las Faltas y sus Sanciones, en su artículo 82, establece como medida disciplinaria, la suspensión del permiso de salida por ocho días, periodo que no se había cumplido, a la retención de los supuestos implicados.

Por su parte, el Ministerio Publico, debió extender el requerimiento fiscal correspondiente, inmediatamente que la Policía Nacional identificó a los agentes policiales, como implicados en la muerte de los universitarios.

Sin embargo, la Directora de Fiscales, del Ministerio Público, Danelia Ferrera, explicó que venía llegando de viaje del extranjero “pero tengo conocimiento que los peritos forenses estuvieron trabajando todo el fin de semana”.

Agrego que no se había extendido los requerimientos fiscales contra los implicados, porque no se contaba con suficientes elementos para aplicar el recurso legal, no obstante la alta autoridad de la Policía ha denunciado el desinterés en el accionar del Ministerio Público.

El sistema judicial y policial del país constata una vez más que ambos instituciones están colapsadas y que se requiere un nuevo cuerpo de seguridad policial, pues depurarla ya no serviría de nada en ninguna de las entidades, que esterilice sus estructuras para bien de la sociedad hondureña.
